Historic Douro: Tradition, Scenery and Culture in a World Heritage Region

We begin our journey from Porto toward the heart of the Douro Demarcated Region, one of the most prestigious wine-producing areas in the world. Our first stop is Amarante, an important religious town linked to the life and story of Saint Gonçalo. You’ll visit the São Gonçalo Church and Convent and admire the beautiful stone bridge over the calm Tâmega River. We then continue to one of the highlights of the day: the Galafura viewpoint. Enjoy breathtaking panoramic views over the Douro River and its stunning surroundings, golden hills, lush vineyards, and layered terraces that seem to stretch endlessly. A truly unforgettable landscape. After lunch, the tour continues to Pinhão, one of the most picturesque villages in the Douro Valley. Here, you’ll witness the harmony between nature and tradition, with its scenic vineyards, peaceful atmosphere, and river views. A memorable experience where culture, nature, and local identity come together in a perfect blend.
