Discover the Best of Lisbon on a Private Tour Designed to Make the Most of Portugal’s Vibrant Capital
This private tour of Lisbon takes you through the city’s main highlights, offering a complete and customizable experience. We begin the day near the Tagus River, in the emblematic district of Belém, where you’ll visit three of the most important symbols of Portuguese history, the majestic Jerónimos Monastery, a masterpiece of Manueline architecture, the iconic Belém Tower, symbol of the Age of Discoveries and the Monument to the Discoveries, honoring the navigators who explored the world. Still in Belém, you’ll have the opportunity to visit the Belém Cultural Center, home to the Berardo Collection Museum, one of Portugal’s richest collections of modern and contemporary art. Before leaving Belém, don’t miss the chance to taste the original Pastel de Belém, one of the city’s sweetest traditions. We then head to the historic downtown, stopping at the grand Commerce Square, with its elegant arcades and the Rua Augusta Arch, the gateway to Lisbon’s Baixa district. We move on to the Chiado, the city’s most cosmopolitan area, where you can visit the iconic Café A Brasileira and take a picture with the statue of poet Fernando Pessoa. Around midday, we’ll suggest some lunch options in authentic and affordable local spots. In the afternoon, we continue to the heart of the city, passing through Rossio Square with its distinctive cobblestone patterns, and heading up the Avenida da Liberdade, home to top international designer stores. We pass the Marquês de Pombal roundabout and stop at Eduardo VII Park, one of the best viewpoints in the city, offering panoramic views over Lisbon and the Tagus. Next, we explore Alfama, the city’s oldest and most traditional neighborhood, where we visit the impressive Lisbon Cathedral. To wrap up the day, we climb to São Jorge Castle, from where you can enjoy one of the most stunning sunsets in Lisbon. This tour is fully customizable. If you wish, you can also include other attractions such as: Parque das Nações (former Expo 98 site), National Coach Museum, National Pantheon, St. Anthony’s Church, Santa Justa Elevator, Bairro Alto, and other incredible viewpoints around the city.
Possibility of half day (4h) or full day (8h) tour.
