Discover Porto: A Journey Through History, Culture, and Wine
The tour will begin on foot, with a pleasant walk through the historic center. We’ll start on Avenida dos Aliados, where you can admire the imposing architecture of the local buildings. From here, you’ll have a view of the iconic Clérigos Tower. Along the way, you’ll come across other monuments, including McDonald’s, known as one of the most beautiful in the world.
The next stop is the São Bento Train Station, where the guide will tell you about the history of the station and its famous tiles which illustrate significant scenes from Portuguese culture and history. We’ll continue up to the Sé Cathedral, one of the oldest monuments in the city, where we’ll take a short break to admire the view and learn about the history of the place (the visit will be external only). From the Cathedral, we’ll head towards the Fernandina Wall, with impressive views of the city.
Arriving at Praça da Batalha, we’ll board our comfortable bus to continue the tour. From here, we head to Vila Nova de Gaia, where we will visit a Port wine cellar for a full explanation of the Port wine production process, followed by a tasting of three wines.
